Services

Delivery

Our delivery service is designed to help those people in urgent need of medication or those that regularly walk past the pharmacy but don’t have time to wait for their prescription to be dispensed.

For urgent items, we aim to deliver all prescriptions the same day providing the prescription is received before 6.00pm and the items are in stock.

If there is any delay in the delivery of your prescription we will telephone you and let you know.

Delivery for prescriptions during the day is free of charge providing you live within the Killamarsh area.

A delivery service designed to take all the hassle out of obtaining repeat medication.

You order your repeat prescriptions as normal and we will either then collect these from your surgery or provide your surgery with pre-paid envelopes for them to post the prescriptions to us.

We aim to deliver your medication within 24 hours of receiving the prescriptions (please allow 2-4 days for the prescriptions to reach us by post).

To sign up for this service, please complete the registration form on the last 2 pages of our pharmacy leaflet

Dispensing

We dispense both NHS and private prescriptions.

A Pharmacist is always on duty during opening hours to supervise the dispensing of prescriptions and to offer help and advice when required.

We carry a wide range of medicines in stock. In addition we are usually able to obtain foreign products not marketed in this country for specific orders.

Our computer system can keep a confidential record of your medication. This is useful to ensure safety and convenience when dispensing and selling medicines.

Repeat Dispensing:

We offer a full repeat dispensing service. We can provide you with pre-paid reply envelopes, so that your repeat prescriptions are returned to Killamarsh Pharmacy for dispensing and delivery. NHS Repeat Dispensing is also available for those on stable repeat medication. Your GP will provide you with your initial prescription and also copies for future supply (of up to one year's duration). Hand in the initial prescription (and, if you want us to look after them, the future supply copies too) and we will then dispense (and deliver, if you wish) your medication for you each month.

Electronic Transfer of Prescriptions:

We are fully equipped and operational to receive and prepare your NHS prescriptions which can be sent to us electronically from any participating GP surgery in the UK.

Unwanted Medicines:

Unused medicines should be returned to a pharmacy for safe destruction. Please Do Not Hoard Medicines it can prove fatal.

Medicines Use Review

If you are taking a variety of medicine, or are unsure about any aspect of your medication, we are here to help you understand it.  Whether it's uncertainty about taking medicines together or something a little more serious, our Pharmacists are happy to discuss your issues with you in private.

A Medicines Use Review is a free NHS service provided by our pharmacy.  The review will take place in a private consultation room and takes 15 minutes to complete.  Your MUR is completely confidential and your GP will receive a record of the discussion.

The purpose of the review is for the Pharmacist to focus on how you are getting on with your medicines - if you are taking your medicines at the right time and in the right dosage, whether your medicines are affecting one another and how you can benefit most from your medications and increase their effectiveness.

If a Pharmacist asks to carry out an MUR on you, don't be alarmed, it is a routine process that benefits everyone and helps avoid any complications.
